MISSION

LET’S MAKE SOME COOL STUFF TOGETHER!

How can we give ourselves permission to be curious, fail endlessly, meet god occasionally, and continue to love ourselves without precondition? That’s the workshop I want to take, and to teach.

What would that look like? I’m opening my studio with a series of workshops that don’t live in traditional space. These workshops are designed to give you tools, inspiration, and room to create, within a framework of your choosing.

We will make art, see art, read poetry, eat lunch, maybe cry, and definitely learn. And I will fuck it up sometimes, but I will also get it right quite a bit. And I’m going to try to let that be OK because… What would that look like?

2 Day Workshops

Short, intense, and more directed in nature, choose from a limited series of themed 2-day (5 hours per day) workshops. Workshop methods will include lecture, demonstration, independent studio work and critique. A materials list will be provided. Maximum of 8 per participants per workshop. One scholarship admission per workshop. $500

5 Session Seminars

Participants design your own project. Intended to develop, test, or transform aspects of your existing art practice under my guidance. If you are creating and curating a portfolio for a grad school application, I can help you. If you need to paint a record of your greatest loss, I will sit with you in that. If you dream of building a world in color and light, I will give you the space and encouragement to orbit that dream.

Time will be devoted to independent studio work, individual and group critique, lecture, demonstration, suggested readings, and fieldtrips to galleries or artist studios.

Seminar will meet every Monday OR Thursday, for 5 hours each day, over the course of 5 weeks. Multiple, consecutive, or ongoing seminars can be arranged.  Maximum of 8 participants per seminar. One scholarship admission per seminar. $1,200
